Even the Torygraph thought this was shambolic:

They're saying pensioners could have had their accounts looked at, that's insane Chinese credit system surveillance level stuff. Even here in America things aren't quite that bad yet.

It looks like the bill thankfully got washed out

Nick what is pathetic is your implication there is no tax evasion by big business. That HMRC has only just starting to prosecute after have had the evidence handed to them on a plate years ago is also pathetic.
I am NOT going to single out one large company when the evasion by large companies and rich individuals is on an industrial scale. (The Panama Papers has been shown since to the the tip of the iceberg.)
That you don't keep up with current affairs is very much your problem not mine.
The fact that you don't understand the current affairs you keep up with is highly amusing lol
The Panama papers outline Tax AVOIDANCE schemes not EVASION, big difference cause one is illegal and the other isn't. Why is Jimmy Carr not in jail? Because he didn't break the law, it's pointless conversing with you because your cognitive deficiency is on an industrial scale.
The fact you never back up your claims is a great source of amusement, most posters cannot be bothered pushing you but it is my life's work to get you to acknowledge you're wrong at least one time.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

But no company has been charged with tax evasion, and you doing your usual hiding behind something is pathetic. If you think a company has been done then the case is closed and there is absolutely no reason you can't mention them, or share a link. The fact is that you're a rabid socialist that deals in propaganda and not facts. Either give a company name or retract your statement that there is industrial scale tax evasion.

Nick I suggest as you have a burr under your saddle know what companies are being investigated that you contact HMRC. HMRC  has 11 live investigations and is looking into a further 24 possible cases.

You don't have to hide behind legal reasons, fact is companies such as P&O ferries get away with murder, things the plebs would be hammered for.
P&O ferries will have a problem shortly is they don't start paying the minimum wage or more they will be banned from French ferry ports, and possibly UK ferry ports as well:-

He hides behind anything he can.

Has P&O been done for tax evasion? They had to pay tax back years ago because HMRC won a case regarding their tax avoidance scheme.
Was talking in general terms how they ignore regulations and laws with impunity

Nick as you are well aware for legal reasons I cannot. That you appear to think such mega evasion by large companies and individuals does not happen flies in the face of the the ever growing number of prosecutions, on going court cases and whistle blower evidence. (I also suspect you use another name on a different forum because the same nonsense about tax evasion that you spout has been spouted word for word for years.)

We'll give some examples then, instead of your usual BS.

Nick I really am NOT interested in your perverseness. Tax evasion by big companies and a few individuals is on an industrial scale. (Some estimates put it at 1/2 a £trillion.) HMRC has been sitting on the evidence handed to them on a plate by whistle blowers years ago HMRC has done eff all with it. (The Whistleblowers have been and are being under witness protection for their safety.)
Prosecution after the Panama Papers revelations are under way at last.
The USA has jailed people for it as have Germany and France. Britain has thus far done precious little.

Basically you have come up with one report of 11 and another of 23, none of whom have been convicted. I ask for one company name and as usual you try and squirm out of it. One company name is all I ask.

Smurf has a point, the level of outright theft from some rich individuals make any individual pleb living on a council estate and fiddling benefits insignificant.

As usual you can't back up your statement.
Industrial scale you said, the government has 11 cases!! Cases, that means no body is yet guilty.
As for the Panama papers, that's tax avoidance, which is perfectly legal, I do it all the time.
