Hang on - it's a bit more complicated than that. She/he was born and brought up a girl but she is one of those anomalies that has too much testosterone so has grown with masculine strength, she is actually a biological female as far as I understand.

I guess it still means that she has an advantage but I understand that she is a female.  Wasn't there a runner a few years ago with a similar problem who was winning everything against 'normal' women?  There is another one (Asian?) who is competing today.

I am not aware TOOTs is a woman, in any case FFS is a very common acronym.

Nick I am on a large number of forums. I can't be expected to know or to remember the sex of several thousand people when there is no picture of them when they make a contribution. I someone does not like the use of very widely used acronyms like FFS it is they who have a problem not me.

They are not spectators , they are family and friends who likely get discounted entry .

At 500 euros a pop its hardly surprising .For me just to take the Mrs on Eurostar without a hotel there and back for an Afternoon of Athletics I'll be spending the best part of £1500 . Seriously you have got to be minted to even consider that .

Hotel costs are irrelevant when you're paying that much just to watch some live action . The cheapest tickets for minority sports are 150 euros ,just not happening .

No wonder spectators are somewhat sparse.

Interesting I notices on the new reporting of the Olympics the audience in stadia seem to be somewhat sparse.

Gabon for instants has cut all ties with France and dropped French as the official language, that sounds like deserting to me. Togo is also in the process of dropping the Franc as its currency, a currency artificially tied to the Euro.

Not sure why you mention the franc currencies — Togo has the West African CFA franc, while Gabon has the Central Africa CFA franc. The change away to a new designation is similar to Australia changing from £sd to the Australian dollar.

Also, not sure that French is being dropped — seems to me that the countries (like others) have decided to adopt English as a second official language...
