It's possibly this pappasmurf-style reaction that the government is using as an excuse not to release the report...

There are a lot of assumptions on this thread about who is mentioned in the report.

If that government / police report is anything remotely like Andrew Norfolk's report here it is not surprising it has been suppressed

Frankly, it's not surprising this country is down the toilet. Nobody bothers to riot over things that matter these days. And people SHOULD have been dragged into the street and castrated with rusty garden shears for this.

I absolutely bloody hate posting youtube links

But on this occasion ... it's 18 minutes long so not as bad as some.

I stopped listening after about five of six, I could not listen any more

Andrew Norfolk, chief investigative reporter for The Times, talks through his four year investigation into 'the lost girls of Rotherham' at Shift North 2015.

Well being treated differently is what Multiculturalism leads to and is where I would disagree with you . Multiculturalism is not fine , its not fine at all .

I don't think I understand quite what you mean. We already live in a multicultural society, we embrace or at least try to, the differences between people. Surely there are certain basics that the whole of society must agree with to make living together possible. All people should expect to abide by the laws of the country they live in and we should all expect that, so surely if police/government don't uphold those laws but simply avoid situations because of faith/beliefs/traditions that is not a level playing field.

Multiculturalism in itself doesn't lead to being treated differently, it is the failure of those with the democratically appointed ability/authority to act.

Multiculturalism is fine but there needs to be a legal level playing field. What is the point of sectors of the population being treated differently to another?

The losers here are not only the victims of these abhorrent crimes but the innocent Asian men who have integrated into Western culture who through no fault of their own are seen as potential groomers . I agree with Posty on that , the report should be published

The problem with not releasing the report is that information already in the public domain will be (is being) publicised and exaggerated so that any brown-skinned male is liable to be regarded by the majority population as part of a Pakistani child grooming gang. The report should be published...

Exactly, T00ts,  :hattip

we wouldn't want to upset our peaceful multiculturalism, would we?

Multiculturalism is fine but there needs to be a legal level playing field. What is the point of sectors of the population being treated differently to another? If those that want us to become a homogenised group were really honest they wouldn't favour anyone, yet all too often there are differences which we are supposed to ignore.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, we live in a post-truth society.

This is surely the same problem that hit the police force when they ignored all the complaints from parents and victims during all those years. In order to protect us from the obscenity of what was happening and divulging the common factor running through all these vile groups, in case we might recognise said common factor and realise that there was something inherently wrong with a certain section of society, they have decided to keep it under wraps. I don't know why we should be surprised it has become evident in so many areas of society that we are being subliminally instructed in how we should think and what we should accept as the norm.
