Big bombs are very useful for demolishing booby trapped buildings without endangering troops.
But they kill civilians in large numbers at a huge range and disproportional killing of civilians is illegal to the conventions the civilised world signed up to.  Interestingly Israel did not showing (with its other pronouncements) that it has every intention of disproportionately killing civilians to get its way.

And it would be immoral and illegal for the UK to send weapons or specific components of such to support that.

Just shows really how Boris is still an unreformed bullshitter.

As you point out, the licences for defensive weapons have not been revoked.  But those associated with lobbing unguided wide area killing Mk84 bombs at civilian areas just in case they mange to kill one Hamas person have been revoked.  Because such is illegal in international law no matter what the provocation.

Why on earth would the UK want to assist illegal killing?

Boris Johnson said:  "Hamas is still holding innocent Jewish hostages, while Israel is trying to prevent a repeat of the Oct 7th massacre. Why are Foreign Secretary Lammy and PM Starmer abandoning Israel? Do they want Hamas to win?"

Good question. The left in the UK have a lot of Muslim support and they don't want to upset them too much.
At the same time, Starmer's wife is a Jew and their kids are being brought up in the Jewish faith, so there must be a bit of a battle going on.

Reality check: Less than 10% of the export licences are being rescinded, which sounds like some sort of compromise to keep everyone sweet.

1. Supposing is part of forum interaction Smurphy.

2. Irrelevant. Hindus do not have a horse in this race.
This is generally a Jews v radical Islam fight
Supposition with no evidence is tittle tattle and gossip.

1. So what? The "battle," is supposition on your part.
2. As far as I am aware Sunak and his wife are Hindu, who cares?

A partial ban shows recipients that the UK can act if it thinks it necessary, and won't give blanket approval to all retaliation, however strongly the Israeli government thinks it's justified.

As no side involved in the Israel v the rest conflicts since before 1948 can justify all of their actions, perhaps the only way to peace is to wipe the slate clean and start again...
On climate change — we're talking, we're beginning to act, but we're still not doing enough...
