Yes but if you don't laugh am I bothered, humour is what makes some laugh.

Anyway do you think it wise for a pm who has made it one of his policies to appoint a football regulator wise to accept a freebie from a premier league club?
Questionable maybe but once the rationale was explained it seems only those that hate the very air Starmer breathes are harping on about it.  As the PM has purview over every area of life in the UK then some will always allege conflict of interest on any arrangement he has.

Anyway as I said: there are many reasons for disliking Starmer, this isn't one of them

Ha ha, call that a joke?

Now please can you give us your calculation to the relative costs of providing enough security for Starmer on the terraces and Starmer in a private box provided at Arsenal's expense and fully declared.

There are a lot of things to criticise Starmer for, this aint one of them.

So we can assume it cost taxpayers a fortune for the security
No we can't, Sunak and family are worth 100's of millions, he might have paid it himself. We know Starmageddon didn't, and had a private box. After todays revolution that Raynor has been using a flat from Ali in NYC it just gets worse for Labour, worst party rating at this point in history and Starmer has dropped like a stone in the last couple of days. They are a joke.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

I like the bit where it says he was in the stands, not a private box.

We know Sunak attended Southampton games when PM.  It's hardly likely his security detail was given the day off is it?
You know but aren't going to show any link to it?

What are you talking about? Our tax pays for Starmers security. . .
And it will cost less now he's taken up the offer of Arsenal not at taxpayers expense providing him with a more secure viewpoint.

Quote from: Nick on September 21, 2024, 12:41:00 AM. . Have you got any reports of Boris or Sunak being escorted to football or the like using our tax?  . .

On just which planet do you think Arsenal FC is a tax payer owned club?

Have you got any reports of Boris or Sunak being escorted to football or the like using our tax? Labour complained when number 10 was wallpapered, Boris didn't take that with him when he left. This is the biggest crash of popularity of any government in recent times, a fall from a tiny vote count to start with.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

The cost is immaterial, if he wants to watch football he pays his own security. Should we build him a second home overlooking to pitch out of tax payers money?
Not sure what planet you live on, I think not must be the planet where tax payers pay for everything MP's do.

Like any civilised country, we provide security for our most prominent politicians.  Sunak had it. Boris had it etc etc and they all chose to go places outside of their official houses and place of employment and security was provided there.

Why should Starmer not receive the same and why on earth do you want to interfere in the legal workings of a private company?

So Starmer gets a free box and says the public will understand because of his security concerns and say it's fair do's.🙃

I heard he asked the copper on the door of no 10 couldn't he put him on his sky sports subscription but he told him to foxtrot Oscar.

They really do think they are entitled, this lot.
Meanwhile, Doris has just had an email from EDF telling her the direct debit needs to go up "coz the energy price cap" and Doris has lost her entitlement to winter fuel payment.
No fear though, Rachel Thieves and Two Tier Starver say Doris will be better off in the long run, she just needs to see a psychologist.
I cancelled my DD, give them a meter reading and pay exactly what you owe every month.

I wonder how many more politicians have similar freebies.
