You've spectacularly failed to make a point.  I agree.  But what death rate is at 1%?

Young people. For people like me who have just received two you are going to die letters it is 15%.

You spectacularly  miss the point .1% death rate is still a lot of deaths when it comes to millions.

Which is why (because we don't know how many are — or have been — infected) the only figure the general public is currently really able to broadly judge progress by is the number of fatalities per million of population, even if not all reports are totally accurate**.

This will change once comprehensive tasting is in place and, perhaps, give a more useful picture when the majority of the population is tested to see who has been infected and recovered...

**There are reports that Covid-19 deaths of care/retirement home inmates in France are not included in the national total. But the story appears to stem from reports of coffins being delivered and stored at these homes and sounds a bit like the Chinese urn reports from which speculations of "actual" death numbers come.

On climate change — we're talking, we're beginning to act, but we're still not doing enough...

Go on.  Explain this problem, and why it's worse than all the other deaths?

It is the number of deaths not the percentage that is the problem. You are using the same tactics as the DWP.

"Ms Merkel said health experts estimated up to 70 percent of the population could be infected by the potentially deadly flu-like virus as she insisted introducing measures to slow its spread was essential."

More evidence, presumably independent from the Oxford Uni evidence and the Icelandic trials, that supports the fact that most people have it, or have had it.  In Germany, deaths = 541.  Out of a population of 83,000,000 that's about 0.001%.  This is what we know so far, based on the data of scientists, not what we think based on speculation.
