Folk have no idea what it is like, but those of us who spend three months on the hook in Chenwantoa harbour while the Chinese army and Red Guards slugged it out ashore still wake up screaming. Nothing to keep us going but Chinese brandy and Port Said bibles. I tell you, towards the end even the ship's dog was looking pretty appealing.
