Police urged to review 14,000 fines handed out for lockdown breaches

The problem in Wales is the jerks at the top say we must do one thing and themselves do another.

The most blatant of these was the welsh 'guidance' that sitting down at a picnic bench while out on your one permitted exercise would be a breach if the law ... which suddenly became 'entirely within the guidelines after the pointless waste of space known as the welsh health minister did this very thing.

Speaking on the monday after the weekend incident was front page in the scum tabloid press, the welsh first minister said the change to the guidance to point out eating in a public place during exercise was not in fact a breach of the law had nothing to do with 'Effing Gethin's' pictured activity.

But at the previous fridays press conference the first minister claimed it was within the rules to meet friends and relatives outdoors, as he often had done himself as he cycled through a park from his home to his allotment.

At the time he said that ....

1) all parks and public leisure footpaths had been forcibly closed by the local authorities exercising their powers under existing legislation to close them for the forseeable future owing to the COVID19 pandemic

2) nowhere in the welsh government issued list of allowed reasons to.leave your home was 'visiting your allotment' listed.

3) Although it has now been quietly dropped at the insistence of Sustrans, the last public statement on allowed exercise in wales specifically forbade cycling further than a reasonable walking distance from your home

So it seems the first minister has been saying one thing and then doing the exact opposite.

Police urged to review 14,000 fines handed out for lockdown breaches

QuoteCivil liberties groups and lawyers are calling for a review of more than 14,000 police fines for alleged breaches of Covid-19 lockdown rules over fears some have been "wrongly issued".

Police chiefs and prosecutors last week apologised after admitting dozens of people have been wrongly charged under new coronavirus laws.

It followed a Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) review of all 231 prosecutions under the legislation in England and Wales to the end of April, which have either been stopped or ended in a conviction.

All 44 charges brought under the Coronavirus Act – which allows officers to remove or detain a "suspected infectious person" for screening and assessment – were incorrect, including 13 wrongful convictions.

I try to protect a lady's honour from these rogues and vagabonds and I get it thrown back in my face!! No good will come of this, you know. Anything Borchester is involved in is bound to be suspect

Anyway, you're all too old to be throwing stones at the old bill. Go back to your greenhouse and potting sheds.

Imagine the scene. Cromwell, Barry, Toots, Borchester and Smurf squatting down behind an overturned car, filling bottles with petrol, waving their walking sticks threateningly and throwing bricks at riot police at the other end of the street....

Feck sake, all us old squaddies will get recalled to come and fire baton rounds at them. PMSL
