My wife thought she might qualify for a letter under asthma.

However, the website has a list of drugs and dose and she is only on 1/16th of the level which brings you into the at risk category.

Actually, they have changed this since she read it and the advice is now:

If you or your child is in one of these groups, you should have already been identified and sent a letter or text message advising you to shield]

I hadn't seen that. I refuse prednisolone. Perhaps they have moved the goalposts to exclude a few!  On that basis I can join the crowds and buy my own chocolate! Do I trust them? Maybe not. While I can cope and stay in I would rather not give the NHS more overload. Perhaps if I don't fall in the worst category I have a chance of a ventilator without enduring a guilt trip though.  :dncg:

OK coming back to the point then...

Still no  sign of any letter even though I qualify on health grounds, and no sign of one across the river for a friend's wife who is slightly older than me and even more at risk owing to long standing medical issues.

However, the Ministry of Justice sent Moira home on full pay last friday without sight of it, ruling that to have her (and anyone else like her) in close proximity to the public while other members of her household are on the at risk list is not acceptable.

All I have to do now is get someone to sort out Melissa's "creche" while her mum goes out to do her job ...

Did you get a letter, T00ts?

No but I got two texts from NHS England ref no letter telling me they were looking into my claim (I registered on their site) and would let me know. I'm covered on their list of underlying conditions so I expect to be included. Supermarkets are supposed to be prioritising  us for deliveries so if nothing else I might have a chance of dying of the bug rather than starvation.

Not me, although the rates demand came through. Personally I expect the government to start winding down on this undignified hysteia. There is sod all they can do and pretty soon there has to be a reaction to all this sackcloth and ashes.

Quite agree.

I registered and it gives a list of the ailments that are included for you to check if it covers you.

I was under the impression it was people over 70 AND people with certain conditions.

I believe I, and my youngest should ne getting them for our ailments. My friend across the river has a wife with several.disabling conditions including COPD so she should have a letter too.

No sign of any of them. But they didnt send us Camerons referendum bollix either, although they didnt refund me the tax money they took to give it to me

Has anyone received the promised letter about isolation for 12 weeks for the vulnerable over 70's. Does anyone know who is supposed to be sending it out? I have been verbally told but as yet no letter and I believe it gives details of who to call if there are problems over getting supplies etc.

Uncle has had texts sent by NHS Coronavirus Service, on Monday. His said: "We have identified that you're someone at risk of severe illness if you catch Coronavirus. Please remain at home for a minimum of 12 weeks. Home is the best place for you. Staying in helps you stay well and that will help the NHS too. You can open a window but do not leave your home, and stay 3 steps away from others indoors. Wash your hands more often for at least 20 seconds."

He's also had more messages from NHS Coronavirus Service, seemingly daily, offering more bits of advice...

It is for the vulnerable not just for some over 70s. (That currently is about 1.8 million people.)

There are 8,769,122 over 70s in the UK.

I rang the GP and was told that NHS England was dealing with it. I found this site for anyone needing to register for help.
