Have you been reading the Lancet again Cromwell? Or the Daily Fail.

There is so little known about this and many viruses,I saw some research that said many people died fom a deadly virus in the 1800's,it eventually mutated and became a strain of the common cold and though it can make you feel crap doesn't kill you, theorised this could happen with covid19.

Ideally meat should always be treated as though it is both contaminated and able to be contaminated. Distributing it from a central plant shouldn't alter that treatment even if some workers have previously tested positive for coronavirus...

The problem is when something does go tits up it does so in a spectacular fashion.

Bearing in mind the links have expired, but I get the gist. What is actually worrying about this?

It seems that people in an abattoir are working away despite having the virus, or did I misunderstand. France will want to get everyone back to work ASAP.

Which is the worrying bit?

It is one of the biggest abattoirs/meat processors  in France and distributes across all of France to supermarkets.

Well the worrying bit is there are those who specialise in the study of viruses that the whole herd immunity may well be a load of cobblers and that this virus will come back even more virulent in the coming months maybe for years and the death toll will be high, still what do they know.

Two news items from France, Covid-19 in an abattoir and also in some schools after the return. (More at links but they are in French. (I have automatic translation installed on my PC.)

The slaughterhouse Kermené de Saint-Jacut-du-Mené (Cotes-d'Armor) continues its activity on Monday 18 May despite 69 cases of Covid-19. All the patients worked on cutting ham and shoulder. Surprising according to a pork industry employee. According to him, all the measures have been taken. "Whenwe enter the company, we are given a clean cotton outfit for the day. We have plastic protections and masks for those who do not have protection at the face."

Despite fears, the government defends tooth and nail this restart with a social aim to reconnect with the 4% of students who dropped out during confinement, or 500,000 students, according to data advanced by the Minister of National Education Jean-Michel Blanching. "The stake of sociability is essential for all our children", as well as "the transmission of knowledge", he argued during a trip this Monday to a college in Eure. "I hope that the sanitary conditions will then allow us to go further".
