I have been giving some female thought to the prospect of men walking the High St in dresses and even Googled to see what choice there is out there. Apart from the Gucci creation which was broadly shown the rest do seem to be mostly kaftan style. So it occurred to me that actually this country has always been too cold to wander about in loose fitting outfits. This is the reason women have largely gone to trousers. It's not that we wish to look like men but we are aware that it is far more comfortable and a heck of a lot warmer than a dress or skirt.

How many times have you seen women standing with arms and legs crossed in the cold? It's not that she needs a 'Ladies' it's because she is frozen. Now if men would like to experience this sensation I advise them to wear a dress, with minute underwear, low cut neckline and preferably sleeveless on a typical winter evening. Even with a coat/jacket added my feeling is that the fashion won't last past the first night.

Many guys are more than happy to have a scantily dressed female beside them but you will notice that more often than not they have a jumper and jacket and probably sneaky long johns under their fashion garb. A woman's clothes are rarely designed for warmth and many a time I have been in houses at parties where I was still frozen even though my escort swanned around in his knits.

It is only time and eventual frustration and oncoming arthritis that makes most of us girls finally realise that few men will hand over their jumper and we take to the polo necks, woolly trousers/long skirts, lambskin flat boots and parkas.   

I feel Borchester is as we speak working out his next post. Don't worry we all get old, but the fact that men don't last as long is nothing to do with it.

I'm looking at a copy of Apollo magazine right now, got a free trial sub.. for 3 months; it has pictures of modern art like artichokes on display in MOMA.

I think they should pay us to be subjected to this stuff.

The only magazine I would subscribe to is soundonsound, but in terms of politics, these days I think 'sludge' is interesting ( http://readsludge.com ), the intercept was good until recently, and I'd say Hitchens' columns are good. The full-on political journals are good like foreign affairs and MIT's journal at times, and arstechnica is good for bringing out my slightly geekier side at times.

But overall, they all lie and bs, even the best of them. So you're prolly best sticking with the sunday sport.

So, some nasty, spiteful old feminist whose spent her entire journalistic career telling anyone who would listen what a bunch of ****s all men are, has been rounded on by the mob she's been a part of since forever?

Now she's writing "give me sympathy" articles in other Luvvy rags complaining about how she's been treated. Feck off Suzanne. What goes around.
