TfL accepts extension to government bailout deal to keep trains, buses and Tubes running

Transport for London's bailout funding has been extended for another seven weeks to keep the capital's rail, bus and Tube services running until 18 May.

Why, this will take us a week or so beyond the London elections. And isn't Mayor Khan Chairman of Transport for London? What a surprise.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said: "As the roadmap is now rolling out I've agreed to extend the existing TfL emergency funding on the same terms as before."This will keep vital services running for Londoners until we agree a new deal in May when we'll be in a better position to know about passenger numbers."
Mr Khan has previously said a hike in travel fares across the capital this month was due to ministers insisting on rises as part of the emergency funding deal. 
The technology is here, so I wonder if we're any nearer getting automatic trains.   
This would be a saving on £55+K drivers — although the majority of London Underground train drivers (approximately 3,000 of them) can make £70,000-£80,000 when overtime and benefits are included. The lower average comes about by including part time staff..
