Anyway, back to what the dawg was saying, he has a fair point the Labour party have become the party of lost causes, which don't get me wrong suits me fine, throwing a few insults at each other just don't cut the mustard any longer.

To get back into power , labour need to win back their old heartlands to start , never mind win elsewhere , and what working class glaswegians or northern english want to listen to this cac from  a party that has been saying tory bad tory scum for all my life but doing little else to help those in their former fiefdoms?

People want to know what labour will do for them , not who labour hate.

All true Tommy, but as Napoleon said, when your opponent is making a total dick of himself, it is bad manners to interrupt   :)

I think its inaccurate to describe "Labour" as a party in the conventional sense anymore. Its now simply a collection of competing victim group agendas, each trying to shout louder than the next to prove their credentials to be "wokier" than the next (wo)man(person).

So if its ok for Angela Rayner to describe people who don't share her views as "scum" (because its ok for her to use such language as shes from a working class northern town apparently, so she says), then its ok for me to describe her as a an absolute piece of s**t scumbag who I wouldn't piss on if she was on fire. Because if this is the level of political debate it now seems perfectly ok to sink to by people like her, then lets just do it. All it does is prove how unelectable that the "party formerly known as Labour" have become, and make even less people vote for a party of frothing at the mouth lunatics like Angela Rayner, regardless of who is leading it

I dont know what the answer is for the labour party , nor am i sure i want to suggest the answer , but keir starmer and angela rayner epitomise how far this party have fallen if they are the so called cream of the party.

We have discussed starmers lack of charm many a time , but rayner does herself no favours whatsoever as you say deppity.

She already comes across as some brain dead gobby manc fishwife type , and language like this does her no favours. It merely backs up the ingrained stereotypical view folk have of her.

On top of that , labour are constantly on the victimhood crusade about various issues including "polite language and better politics" , then rayner comes along and drags politics back into the gutter and makes the party once more look hypocritical.

Shouting tory scum ,tory bad , it appeals to relatively few if any people so why do it?

To get back into power , labour need to win back their old heartlands to start , never mind win elsewhere , and what working class glaswegians or northern english want to listen to this cac from  a party that has been saying tory bad tory scum for all my life but doing little else to help those in their former fiefdoms?

Sod it Deppity, I wanted to say that.  :)

She might have a point about Boris, but she does not seem up on this politics lark. We may feel sorry for victims, but we don't respect or elect them.

To be fair, Wurzel has a point

There is a story about 1745 uprising that might even be true for all I know. Apparently the British captured a Highlander and were preparing to hang him when he protested that he was just a piper. He had never fought, he just made music.

And the chap in charge of the hanging said don't be daft, you can't have war without music and ordered the Highlander to be strung up.

Sir Keir's real problem isn't his policies or attempts to make himself party leader for life or whatever other wickedness he is up to, but that he is a dreary sod

Personally, I reckon they are running short on gimmicks, so who knows a little poetry and music might brighten the place up a bit, the Labour party have become rather dour of late, say what you like about the Corbyn, he did brighten the place up a bit for them.

Jeremy Corbyn calls for music and poetry at every meeting to tempt people to socialism

QuoteMore people could be tempted to embrace socialism by including music and poetry in every meeting, Jeremy Corbyn has said.

The former Labour leader told an event at The World Transformed conference, which is running alongside the Labour Party conference in Brighton, that political meetings did not need to be boring and "held on cold winter nights in miserable halls".

And he said there were many different ways in which people could come to "political conclusions".

Mr Corbyn was responding to a question from the audience on how to tackle a fear of the word socialism.

He replied: "Well, socialism is about everyday life and how you live your life."

He said the "the vast majority of people do hold socialist values to some extent or the other", and pointed to support for the NHS as an example.

But he said: "Socialism is also about culture, and art, and expression, which is why we shouldn't sort of always cut ourselves off and insist that all meetings are only ever rather boring and rather dour and rather long, and preferably held on cold winter nights in the miserable halls.

"Actually, I think all our meetings should include music, should include poetry, should include ways of getting people to think about things because people come to political conclusions by lots of different routes.

"Let's make sure we're on all those routes as well."

Quite right too, Starmer trying to get rid of OMOV was a very retrograde step.

So i take it you didnt favour starmers electoral college idea and prefer to keep your vote as it is pappy?
