Rewriting history is all the rage now. Some are even rewriting the present - for example those who portrayed the EU as an imperial power and caused Brexit and all the trouble that's now bringing us.

I love Starkey. He ate umble pie after the BLM business in 2020 but clearly could not give a toss, and was back a year later when he declared that all the awards he had been forced to give up were honorary ones and that the whole keffufle had not cost him a penny. In fact he is currently on line churning out videos and clearly having a whale of a time and probably making a few bob as well.

One of the things I particularly like Starkey was his row with Geoffrey Elton. Both of them could be appallingly rude and both were and are, endlessly entertaining.

A few top legal minds should get together to go through the history of the Enclosure Acts with a fine-tooth comb.  Imagine the implication of any evidence that a lot of present-day farmers don't legally own the farms that they think they own.  Who would be the rightful owners of the land?  The state?  Or would the fact that the ownership of the farms had not been challenged for a couple of centuries mean it could not be challenged now?
