I produced a ton of evidence re the apocalypse in Cornwall
You did nothing of the kind, your personal experience had  no relevance to what was happening, widely reported in detail and debated in the House of Commons.

I have produced a lot or referenced evidence, because of your Cognitive Dissonance you refuse to believe it.
(I don't call the public accounts committee, or logistics industry tinfoil hat links.)
I produced a ton of evidence re the apocalypse in Cornwall... not, you dismissed it all as rubbish so you can jog on. You are the specialist at not believing what is on your doorstep.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

If elected Governments weren't quite clear on their beliefs
Despite the evidence of levels of poverty as direct result of government action the government because of Cognitive Dissonance refuses to acknowledge there is a problem.

The problem is when people ignore overwhelming evidence that contradicts their beliefs.  It get dangerous when the sufferers from such Cognitive Dissonance are the government.
If elected Governments weren't quite clear on their beliefs and direction then we wold have a mess of vacillating nonentities. There has to be clear direction in Government. Those leaders who want and like to please everyone simply create chaos. It is necessary to have courage in your beliefs. I wouldn't expect any less from anyone.

I'm yet to see you produce any evidence for anything, just a load of tinfoil hat links. 😂

So that's fairly common then. I should think most of us make our minds up about things and assume others are just stupid.

In simple terms, it can be the filtering of information that conflicts with what you already believe, in an effort to ignore that information and reinforce your beliefs.

It's interesting.

Is cognitive dissonance a bad thing?

Cognitive dissonance isn't necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it can prompt you to make positive changes when you realize your beliefs and actions are at odds. It can be problematic if it leads you to justify or rationalize behaviors that could be harmful

That is only one definition, the one I am using refers to people who reject evidence that conflicts with their existing beliefs.

I can assure you I feel no discomfort about my views, unlike you I actually have life experience to gauge them against.
Life experience cannot be extrapolated as applying to all.
