Fires, Wennington, Croydon

Sky news reporting wild fires in Croydon and Wennington Essex which is involving houses and grass land.  Here is a link from the Mail which has just caught up.

Yes I smelt smoke this afternoon while having a cool off in the living room (big fans ,curtains drawn ) and just assumed it was one of  the usual suspects having a bonfire . An hour or so later a nieghbour called for some advice and outside was half the estate who had got together to put out a grass  fire with wet towels and joined up hoses . 

Apparently the fire brigade said they would not be attending as they were too busy elswhere ?  Feck knows what would have happened but for some keen residents
