Is that just your opinion or have you some referenced evidence?
Already posted it, if you can't be bothered to read it then tough.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Yes, a scam business, and that's the reason for the growth.

Whoever's doing the selling, it appears to be a growing business...

Never seen a Big Issue seller in the nearest town to me. (Mind you "street people" with a dog on a string begging for money seem to have been absent for several years.) Also the council seems intent on killing the town centre off altogether with now 24 hour parking charges, higher parking charges, and every more complex systems to pay to park. (The number of town centre shops has been dropping for years now.
It can look like a land based version of the Mary Celeste at times.

On climate change — we're talking, we're beginning to act, but we're still not doing enough...

The same is true of Newport.

I used to see this bloke selling the issue outside Spar. Even bought one or two.

Then suddenly every seller was an eastern European woman.

There are stories of BMWs rocking up at the depots buying up the mag in bulk and being distributed to these women by what amounts to their pimps. Is that the case ? I don't know. I don't live or work near the distribution centre

I've only seen a bloke in a not very new white beemer handing mags to these women around the city and driving off.

In short, a housing benefit tribunal declared their self employed status gave them access to the in work housing benefits.

Every seller for miles around has been one of these women ever since

I won't give their ripoff syndicate the time of day

God knows where the people who used to sell it have gone.

The Big issue was taken over in these parts by Romas years ago . Origionally meant to be a leg up for homeless people we have had the same girl selling it outside the local supermarket for the last 15 years .

Being 'self employed' does of course open up the benefits system to those in the know .

Despite industrial unrest and days off work hitting the headlines, parts of the UK economy are booming — even outside the EU

The number of Big Issue sellers has risen 10% in the past year.

There were 3,642 vendors in 2022 compared to 3,296 the year before, figures from the Big Issue Group show...
