Sturgeon tells Starmer to 'find a backbone' in jibe at Labour

From Brass Neck Nicola that's some accusation. She is the epitome of a spineless leader. 9 years in charge and absolutely nothing done to advance the cause. Far too many of the party leadership are happy to be in control of Scotland's devolved Parliament and have given up the ghost on Independence. That is the reason why so many people left the party. They could see, that with her as leader the Independence can would be continually kicked down the road. The same will happen under Yousaf, the continuity leader.

Scotlands leaders have a history going back centuries of doing deals with the English and will take the crumbs of a devolved government as a victory for their own political careers .
If they did actually at any point gain independence the politicians of Scotland would lose what gets them elected . They would face competition from emerging and reborn parties like the conservatives and labour who would take on a completly different persona without being tied  to the English versions .

In short independence will see SNP MPs out of a job and is why they will keep things exacly how they are
