Remember that Richard's body was moved to King's Langley, which the site of a Steiner school. And that was not only closed down due to kiddie fiddling, but ridden with veganism. The whole business raises a lot of questions that are not worth answering :)

Alledgedly . Who knows what skullduggery was afoot in the royal courts of the 1300's . That he was burried  in consecrated ground and later moved to Westminster Abbey would suggest there were some who thought otherwise

I think we should get Columbo on the case ;)

Pontefract Castle.

Not a bad place, but the local culture doesn't not extend much beyond getting shitfaced drunk, so Richard, a sophisticated sort of chap, starved himself to death.

Really , street vendors of the day would sell pies , tarts ,cheeses and eggs . Inns would wrap hot meals in cloth covered plates for the man (after a couple of pints of mead )  to take home for his family as many of the urban poor lacked cooking facilities .
Come on Papa this is second grade history , did you go to school ?

Actually, that is a good point.

In Rome a lot of folk relied upon takeaways, not only because of the lack of cooking facilities, but because the tenements they lived in had a nasty habit of catching fire. Marcus Licinius Crassus ( 115 – 53 BC) , of first Triumvirate fame, made a business out of buying burnt out buildings for washers, restoring them and selling them on.

And Richard II died of starvation, which does not say much for his cooks
He was in prison at the time.
