Is anyone surprised? Ukraine invaded

I see the media propagandists are out in force again today.
The focus of their attention being a supposed strike on a children nursery on the Ukrainian side of the Donbass contact line.

Two main points to make:
1) Both sides routinely swap artillery fire across the contact line and have done since 2015.

2) This particular shell hole looks distinctly fake:

a) It is back to front, the wide blast circle should be on the outside of the building not inside
b) Lack of blast damage or shrapnel. If the blast penetrated a wall that thick, there would be a lot more damage inside and the tell take pock marks of shrapnel in the walls
c) No fire damage, not even scorch marks around the hole - So unless the attack was with a cannon ball or Trebuchet.....

The bricks look more chiseled out from the inside than blasted in from the outside, If this is not simply a total fake, it looks much more like a half prepared firing position for the Ukrainian army.

It would seem lobbying has moved from big Pharma, who have probably had more than their share, now can they be outdone by the MIC.

Why invade when he can make his point simply by coming to the border, and going through all the motions, to indicate to all how easily he  could invade if he so wished, and in some circumstances would.

It is clear what is going on. This is pissing off NATO and he is preparing for an invasion if the stars line up... so not yesterday. Educated guess, when China invade Taiwan perhaps. Russia are holding the Champions League in May. Absolutely zero chance of an invasion before then which means when Johnson, Biden and to a lesser extent Truss make statements saying an invasion is imminent, people are just thinking wolf so when an invasion does happen, if at all, nobody is going to be ready.... except of course the people who have been in training because of the previous false claims. Which then goes to what we should be doing to stop this working against us. I would say to try and distinguish the reasons to invade. Macron is right....again. Ukraine should look at Finlands defence pact and see what they can get from Russia by doing something similar out of that.

He makes the point that he will influence Ukraines politics by hook or by crook,  Ukraine, lives with that as a fact, the west has to accept it also.
Simply because even by the standards set by the  west in particular the US. It is not going to be acceptable to have near neighbours considered to be dominated by a potential enemy, in particular in a military sense, which membership of NATO, would indicate.
It's going to be expensive, but Putin could keep this up for some time yet. On the other hand if he is willing to maintain armed forces of the scale he has, does it matter where they are and what they do, as long as they stay in Russian , or friendly territory.

No one in the west is actively going to initiate a war in Ukraine under some Nazi style false flag incident, especially when it involves possible conflict with a nuclear armed state, not even Biden whose track record in Afghanistan suggests he has little stomach for wars. It is not in the western interest to initiate any such war.

What appears to have happened is that US  and probably other western intelligence agencies have been observing what Russia is up to and noted all the preparations taking place, and from that concluded that an invasion is likely on Wednesday. It may of course just be a massive bluff. Russia would need to do everything in readiness for an imminent invasion for any bluff to be effective. Putin needs both Ukraine and us in the west to think he is serious, in order to maximise the threat, causing maximum pressure and thereby increasing his chances of gaining meaningful concessions. Of course it might not be a bluff. He might be really intending some form of invasion. Time will tell.

But Biden is an idiot. In going public with his intelligence experts' assessment that Wednesday is the most likely day of an invasion, he is going to look pretty damned stupid if the invasion never comes. Russia would now gain an easy propaganda coup if it didn't invade at all, making the west look like pazranoid warmongers.

No need to worry about escalation, all NATO forces are legging it out of Ukraine as fast as there little legs can carry them.
No, this will just be a provocation to set Russia and Ukraine against each other and only needs to be enough to strong arm Schulz into abandoning Nordstream2
