We realised we were going to have problems when Social Services tried to intervene with Melissa and complained that the very material the department of education mandated Sarah TEACH to 5 yea olds was giving her own daughter if that age  "knowledge beyond her years"

They backed off very, very fast when I got involved

I can't remember if I commented in this thread but I noted a point in the opening post that the parents of the child involved in the incident were considering home schooling.

If this is a Labour controlled council, such an act will almost certainly lead to those parents being flagged as child abusers. It's a routine action taken by Labour controlled councils round here to try and frighten those unhappy with state control into compliance denying their rights as parents under the 1948 act. There was quite a stink over it a couple of years ago round here.

Your question reminded me, Melissa's JUNIOR school headmaster sent Sarah a letter asking if she (Sarah) required Melissa to be given time off for any religious festivals etc. Apparently any child who indicates they or their parents follow a non-abrahammic faith (as she had) got this letter asking the parents to list any such days which the school would mark as an approved absence ....

I think Sarah said there were none she wanted to add.

I'll have to remind her to tell the secondary school. Or maybe not. People get some funny ideas about such groups where 12 and 13 year old girls are concerned

I had a very disturbing conversation with a Primary School teacher yesterday. One of her daughters is yr 8 at the local comprehensive and she locked herself into the school loos refusing to come out. The cause was 3 boys in her year showing her pictures of both male and female genitals asking which she preferred.

The fact that this happened in the middle of a maths lesson is one disturbing aspect which obviously needs some questioning but the conversation went on the question the whole LGBT being covered in schools. The daughter pushed the boys aside but that simply led to them deciding that as she didn't approve of either then she must be bisexual. I understand that each subject teacher is asking these kids how they wish to be addressed as a matter of course.

She has 5 children from 6th form down to Primary school and told me that it is really causing her and her husband concern to the point that they are actively considering home schooling. Her older kids suggest that it is much worse for the girls than the boys but it seems that there is increasing pressure to choose who you are at an age when most of us would accept that they are too young to make any such major decisions in life.

A the title suggests at what point does this become child abuse and how many parents are now beginning to worry about the consequences for their children?

Year eight is "form two" as I used to call it.

I recall the year very well. It was the start of several years of torture from hell which did not end until I cracked the skull of the biggest bully and as he was carted off to hospital inherited his harem, but that, to be fair was when I was almost 17 and he even older but he'd been picking on me for several years.

I recall having downed him and seeing the blood pour off his head down the wall I found the inner firepower to kick the holy shit out of four others who had bullied me physically, mentally and with miscellaneous sexual double entendres for years.

It was intensely pleasing to see them squirm in pain as I beat, kicked and cricket batted the shit and multiple other bodily fluids out of them.

The headmaster was quite stunned when I told him what had gone on for the past four years. He was in total denial almost as much as my daughter's headmaster who went to the local paper to declare there was no bullying culture at his school in the 90s and then had to explain the suicide and the shotgun incident the week after.

In short, it seems to me little has changed since the 1970s.

Melissa is now attending that same school as my daughters did, has recently discovered the joys of being female as it pertains to having to avoid the invite of jumping in her best pals  hot tub one weekend in four and has the musclepower and agility to take down any idiot who annoys her.

Only one utter Tw** has tried so far, and he found little madam skilled in inspiring all seven of her best mates in her maths class to assist her in beating him to a pulp.

I'm waiting for someone to whinge at Sarah for madams ability and eagerness to defend herself. I have the front pag s of the Argus carrying the former headmasters assurance the school had no bulling problem, and the front pages of all next week as the suicide and violence that followef it unravelled.

SO far I have not had a repeat of what I had with Sarah.

The junior school bully in top juniors picked on her best friends big brother because he was dyslexic, dyspraxic and lactose intolerant poor bastard. Sarah, then in first year infants just out of reception, saw one such incident, ran out of her playground into the juniors, raced over to the bullying git, grabbed him, whirled him round, yelled "don't you bully my best friends big brother" and nutted him despite being about five years younger. He went down like a sack lunch f spuds.

I was called to the headmasters study. Poor bugger could hardly hold a straight face.

I agreed to tell Sarah she could not headbutt a bully five years older and a foot taller even if he was beating upmher friends older brother, but that knocking him to the floor so her friend's brother could stomp him was ok in my book....

We never had trouble there again. Sports day however was ... Wierd. Bullying shit brought his mother over to the BBQ stall to meet the girl who'd put him down .....

So in summary this does not really surprise me. In 1972 there were no internet pics, the bullies if that nature had to use the blo w job pictures ripped out of their dads (and in one case mums) porn mags ...
