Plus, why give them yet another way to track you?

Throw your mobile phone/smart phone away then. Don't use a car park where you have to put in the registration of your car, and don't use a credit/debit card.

The point is that they can be used at will, thrown away or changed, or whatever, whereas a microchip is there ALL the time and stays with you whereever you go.

It's like Jav's insane argument - "I already have several unscrupulous apps on my phone, so why not add another one!" re the covid app.

Government shitlist not spooks shitlist there is a difference.

Pretty sure that if half the stuff you have said is true, and given the stuff you have posted; you are very likely on both. Not high priority of course, but there's more than likely a file on you.

I know I'm definitely on both, I used to be a hardline commie and a protester nearly 11 years ago...

If they had a "ffs not that pain in the fecking arse again" list, you'd be at the top of it.

I am in principle in favour or ID cards and for personal reasons I would like to be microchipped.

Compulsory inoculations is a health matter.  However such a policy would have to be backed up with compulsory and quick pay outs for the the few people badly effected. The current system of decades in court to get money in such cases is NOT acceptable.

Nalaar: I exist therefor I am

Javert:  Relatively?

Nalaar: Relative to reality?

Javert:  Reality is existential

Nalaar: Relatively speaking it isn't

Javert:  In reality, that's relative

Nalaar: Relative to what?

Javert:  Existence

Nalaar: So I exist?

Javert:  In reality you are existential

Nalaar: Ah, but relatively I am real

Javert:  But you said you exist?

Nalaar: Because I am

Javert: Am what?

I gave proof of identity,on the govt form it stated you could provide ni number and bank account details if you wished,I didn't wish to,I was illustrating how an ID card could lead to petty unjustified requests to show it  :fcplm:

And you said they should be compulsory but not compulsory to be carried whilst Nalaar semi agrees with you that he doesn't see the problem with them but does say they don't have to be implemented.

Well I take your point, but to be honest I don't see the argument that someone might ask to see your ID when they don't need to as a very strong argument against it when set against the advantages.  As you point out, you can simply summon a manager or whatever - often these things are partly down to training issues.

Also, if I remember correct, if the police come into contact with you whilst you are driving a vehicle, they can already ask for your drivers license, and if you don't have it, you have to produce it within a certain time (48 hours?).  If it was a similar system with ID cards, we have already crossed that civil liberties line with driving licenses anyway.

Rightly so if you are trying to apply for some kind of service or item that has financial or social value.

You raise the topic of identity theft, and yet you suggest that we should be able to fill in forms and apply for services without provide proof of identity?
