If I'm unable to tell what will happen, presumably neither can you.

If that is the case, how do you know that brexit will be good for the UK? Aren't you just making a leap in the dark because you don't know what will happen?

Those who make extensive use of metaphors in what purports to be a logical argument don't know either.

The one you use actually came from Thomas Hobbes as follows:

Quote Thomas Hobbes is reported to have said on his death-bed, "Now am I about to take my last voyage- a great leap in the dark."

Bloody politicians!

I wish they would take a leap in the dark.

As for boris 350m being right or close to accurate, again your wrong. From the below article, per week its 327 less the rebate 75 = 252m/week being sent, the UK never sent 350m a week, it sent 252m a week. I wouldn't call that close. Then the UK gets 87m a week in public funding from the EU and a further 19m a week in public funding. So the actual cost to the UK being in the EU is circa 146m a week. The big red bus led people to believe 350m a week was the cost, the actual cost at 146m a week, still a sizeable number but far from Johnson's claim.

I'm pretty sure Barry doesn't own a wrong Gerry. I saw one for sale on EBay so if you bought it, it could be your wrong, otherwise it may be no one's wrong. !!
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

I'm not confused, so don't patronise me.

You are obfuscating because you won't debate what I've called you out on, as I'm right.

I can't debate the non information you've posted. You claim the NHS has received increases greater than that claim. So show it or what your saying can be discarded.

Funnily the fish the French catch is consumed in the UK. The difference being their boats fish far from shore, if the UK want to fish in these areas it will require heavy investment from UK fishermen to upgrade their fleet to much larger boats, not something the average small trawler fisherman can do. But maybe some large UK business will venture into this area. Hard to understand why that hasn't happened to date.

Again Gerry, you're talking crap. I have an 18' fishing boat and I go out 26 mile plus, I see illegal Spanish boats inside the 12 mile limit. The UK fleet is equipped to fish 100's of miles for days on end. The Netherlands are sucking the UK waters dry with EU a permission. It will stop.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

What was the real figure then barry, and care to elaborate on your claim that the NHS increases are in excess of the stated figure, that been the big red bus 350m a week or 18b a year. Really looking forward to that.

Hope that's not confusing you

By the way, Gerry, the NHS has already had far more than the stated figure in increases, and is due to receive more.  But don't let the facts get in the way of your bungling bus bull.

Boris was not taken to court because the figure wasn't too far off the truth, was it?

Don't shout - it makes you sound so desperate.

He is desperate.  He's still carping on about that ruddy bus!

I find it difficult reading his posts. Confusion with yours and you're,  lose and loose, of and off, millions and billions do tend to reduce credibility.

Cant believe people are still arguing about the interpretation of what was written on a bus 4 years ago .

Anyway , back to the future and Boris is in the mood to walk away from trade talks if the EU insist on the UK keeping EU regulations and the EU are threatening to walk away if the UK doesn't do custom checks in the Irish sea . The European fisherman are demanding continued access to the sovereign  waters of an independent nation  believing them to be traditional fishing grounds . Johnson say Britain will take back control of its waters .

Talks to break down within weeks ?

Certainly seems that many people hope that talks break down. They appear to be many of the same the people who want the EU to fail and keep predicting it will, or implying they've heard that various countries are on the verge of following the UK's lead and exiting. It's not clear if confidence is faltering in the belief that the UK will leap free of the EU's chains and thrive, or whether it's just sour grapes that the EU will have its normal ups and downs and do quite well without the UK...

Sorry Toots but can you list the demands by the EU, that's a serious question because I don't see any.

The trouble is GerryT you have been programmed by pro EU doctrine. Here is one version.

The British are a funny lot when it comes to eating fish . They don't eat much of it and its usually the wrong sort . Our fisherman have got to learn to catch what we eat and we have got to learn to eat what they catch , The rest can carry on swimming round in circles and breeding for all I care .

The French on the other hand can eat frogs , I hear they like them .

Correct which is why over 90% of fresh fish and live shellfish caught by British fishermen is exported to France and Spain.

This was recently played out when the London fisheries convention ceased to exist on 31st Jan and french fisherman didn't get the newly introduced Guernsey fishing permits, but when the Guernsey fishermen tried to land their catch in France they were refused, the catch was dumped. No winners there. Brexit just keeps giving.
